Working together to look after the interests and development of Structural Engineers both in South Africa and Internationally.

Structural engineering is the science and art of designing and making, with economy and elegance, buildings, bridges, frameworks, and other similar structures so that they can safely resist the forces to which they may be subjected.

The Joint Structural Division (JSD) consists of members from both The South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE) and the UK based Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE). Members of either institute are welcome to join even though membership of both is encouraged.
